Ansel Adams Poster History
Ansel Adams posters are in wide distribution and are some of the most beautiful photography posters every produced.
In 1979, The Silver Image Gallery published a exhibition poster that was beautifully designed and printed. It was created to promote an exhibition of Ansel Adams photographs,
however it did more than that, it showed Ansel that his images could work well as fine poster art.
The image featured was "Sandunes, Sunrise, Death Valley". The poster was designed by Rick Eiber, and used primarily for exhibition publicity.
It was printed in duo-tone on high quality paper and only two-hundred were printed. Ansel, really liked the poster and requested
an extra copy so he could give one to his niece. Within a year or so, the New York Graphic Society came out with their famous series of Ansel Adams posters.
